4 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech To Marrakech
You will go deep into the Moroccan desert and south of Morocco on the 4-day desert tour departing from Marrakech that takes you to the Sahara Desert and the Atlas Mountains. Tour Itinerary
We'll start our trip from your hotel & riad in Marrakech, and drive you to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi ‘ n ’ n'Tichka, the loftiest major mountain pass in Africa( 2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the geography through Berber villages. Arriving at the notorious Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest one in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 where; we will have lunch before we continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate, “ the Hollywood of Africa ” and along the( Road of the thousand Kasbahs), passing by Kalaat Mgouna, “ the rose’s valley ” known for the product of rose water roses and its periodic jubilee( May), before arriving at Dades Gorge. Overnight at Hotel/ Riad.
Sahara Desert. After morning breakfast, we’ll drive through the valley to see the fantastic rock formations and take a break in one of the nice spots of the gorge. Leaving the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra valley, we will see the panoramic views of the old Berber townlets with their palm groves overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Todgha Gorge, you’ll walk under a high red precipice raised to 300m) at its narrowest point. Continuing to Erfoud and Rissani, lunch will be on the way afterward, and we’ll leave for the Sahara Desert of Merzouga on our arrival. You'll be served a hot mug of mint tea, also you'll be prepared for your camel tour. After a traditional regale under the stars, we will set up Berber tents for our night in the desert.
Watching the sunrise over the dunes will be our first activity of the day. After that, we will return to Merzouga with our camel trekking guide, where you will meet your driver. We will drive to Rissani, where we may visit this sub-Saharan economic region and visit the local souk. We continue toward Agdez, passing Tazarine and Alnif. You will be astounded by the Berber architecture and decorations when we arrive in the Draa Valley, a stunning valley with palm trees, defended castles, and tiny villages. We will continue traveling until we get to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night in a hotel (dinner and breakfast included).
We will depart from the hotel after breakfast and proceed to the well-known Kasbah Taourirt and Studios of Ouarzazate. We will go to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE, after visiting these breathtaking locations. It is where many sequences from films like Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile, as well as television shows like Game of Thrones, were shot. After touring the Kasbah on foot, we will return to Marrakech via the High Atlas highlands. One of the oldest Kasbahs in the High Atlas, Kasbah Telouet, is one of the locations we'll visit along the route. We will then proceed to Marrakech, where our four-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will come to a close.
